Your genes are trying to tell you something.
It's time to listen.

A one-off genetic methylation test that tells you exactly how your body processes nutrients, manages mood, handles stress, and ages. With personalised guidance from a real Clinical Nutritionist, not an algorithm.

NATA-Accredited Lab 100s of Australians tested Clinically reviewed, never automated Small Aussie-owned business

You're doing everything "right" and still not feeling it.

You eat well (mostly). You exercise. You sleep. And yet something's still off. Your energy dips in the afternoon. Your mood isn't quite stable. You keep getting told your bloods are "normal" but you know you're not quite at your best.

Here's something most GPs won't tell you: the way your body uses nutrients, processes hormones, and handles inflammation is largely written into your DNA. And if your genes aren't working the way they should, no amount of generic advice is going to fix it.

That's where a genetic methylation test comes in.

Fatigue that won't shiftEven with decent sleep, your energy just isn't there.
Mood and anxietyFeeling flat, anxious, or emotionally reactive without a clear reason.
Brain fogStruggling to think clearly or stay focused throughout the day.
Hormonal imbalancesPMS, PCOS, intense perimenopause symptoms, thyroid issues that aren't resolving.
Digestive issuesBloating, multiple food intolerances, gut symptoms that come and go.
Wanting to optimiseAlready healthy, but want to go deeper on longevity and performance.

Why I built this test into our practice

"When I started seeing clients who were doing everything right on paper but still struggling, I kept coming back to the same question: what is it about this person's biology specifically that's getting in the way? Genetic methylation testing changed how I practise. It gave me a window into why certain people don't respond to standard protocols and it let me get genuinely precise with recommendations in a way that just wasn't possible before."

Georgina Waugh, Director and Clinical Nutritionist (BHSc Nut Med)

The methylation pathway is one of the most important biochemical processes in your body. It touches everything from how you produce energy, to how you detox oestrogen, to how your body (not brain) makes dopamine and serotonin. When it's not working properly (often because of genetic variants in MTHFR, MTR, MTRR, DHFR, COMT & TCN2) the downstream effects are wide-ranging.

This test looks at 92 genes and 113 SNPs across 8 health categories, covering nutrient metabolism, hormone support, mental health, detoxification, cardiovascular health and more. It's over 100 pages of your personal genetic blueprint, interpreted by someone who actually knows what to do with the information.

What changes when you have the right information

Case study 1

Living with ankylosing spondylitis, and finally getting on top of it

A 37-year-old woman had been diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis for five years. She was experiencing chronic lower back and hip pain, more than four flare-ups per year, significant stiffness between flares, and daily anxiety, overstimulation, and afternoon fatigue. She also had longstanding constipation dating back to her teens and poor stress tolerance. Blood work showed elevated CRP, elevated homocysteine, and low-normal B12, alongside genetic patterns linked to impaired methylation, increased inflammatory signalling, oxidative stress vulnerability, gluten sensitivity risk, and gut-immune dysfunction.

Based on her genetic methylation test and blood work, a personalised plan was developed: targeted methylation support, therapeutic-dose omega-3s, magnesium glycinate, antioxidant support, bile salts, prebiotic bowel support, strict gluten removal, caffeine reduction, and a Mediterranean-style anti-inflammatory food plan with daily gut barrier and glutathione-supportive foods.

Within weeks, pain reduced significantly, anxiety improved, and bowel motions went from 1–3 times per week to daily. At follow-up, pain was rated 2/10, she was no longer waking in pain, anxiety had settled substantially, and she hadn't needed Meloxicam since her previous appointment. She described the changes as life-changing and returned to running around with her children at the park.

Case study 2

Genetic methylation testing for asthma, eczema, histamine symptoms, reflux and low energy

A 25-year-old busy father presented with long-term symptoms that had been affecting his quality of life for years. He had experienced eczema and asthma since infancy, along with severe reflux, a chronic cough, a constant runny nose, itchy skin, acne, weekly headaches, low energy, irritability, light-headedness most days, fidgeting, fast speech, and reliance on daily antihistamines.

His clinical history also showed family patterns of immune dysfunction, a high-stress work environment, poor sleep quality, minimal intentional exercise despite being on his feet all day, and a diet built mostly around quick on-the-go meal options. Blood testing showed elevated homocysteine, suboptimal B12, suboptimal ferritin, mild CRP elevation, and low testosterone. Microbiome imbalances were also identified.

Genetic methylation testing revealed MTHFR 1298 homozygous, alongside additional variants affecting B12 transport, histamine clearance, glutathione production, oxidative stress regulation, neurotransmitter pathways, and overall methylation efficiency.

A personalised genetics-informed plan was implemented, including a niacin trial to identify a methylation block, tailored methylation support, magnesium, omega-3s, antioxidants, prebiotics, an anti-inflammatory wholefood diet, sleep support strategies, stress regulation support, movement recommendations, and gentle detox support.

At follow-up, he reported feeling “super chill,” with no eczema at all, resolution of light-headedness, no more digestion issues, reflux and coughing completely resolved, high energy, no more headaches, better sleep, and improved mood. This case highlights how personalised nutrition and genetics-informed treatment can support complex presentations involving histamine intolerance, chronic skin issues, asthma, reflux, low energy, and mood dysregulation.

A few things people usually ask

Is this the same as the MTHFR test?

The MTHFR genes (C677T and A1298C) are included in this test, but it goes much further. We look at 92 genes in total across methylation, hormones, mental health, detoxification, nutrients, cardiovascular health and more. MTHFR is just one gene in the whole methylation puzzle, and focusing on it alone can mean missing a lot of the picture.

Which package should I choose?

If you have a practitioner you're already working with or prefer to review information at your own pace, the Test Only package gives you the full report to share or explore yourself. The Video Analysis is a good middle ground, giving you a personalised recorded walkthrough with specific recommendations, on your own schedule. The 1:1 Consultation is the most popular option for a reason: it's a live 60-minute session where you can ask questions, discuss your health history, medications and goals, and leave with a tailored plan. If you're dealing with complex or longstanding health issues, we'd point you toward the consultation every time. Still not sure? Book a free 15-minute chat and we'll help you decide.

Do I need to stop taking supplements or medications before the test?

No, you don't need to change or stop anything. This test looks at your DNA, which doesn't change based on what you take or what you're exposed to. What supplements and medications do affect is how your genes express themselves in practice, which is exactly why we take your full health picture into account when interpreting your results.

What is DNA methylation and why does it matter for my health?

Methylation is a biochemical process that happens billions of times a second in your body. It controls how your genes are expressed, how you produce neurotransmitters, how you detox hormones, and how well your body repairs itself. When the methylation pathway isn't running properly, the effects can show up as fatigue, mood issues, hormonal imbalances, poor detox and more. Testing gives you a clear picture of where your pathway is working well and where it needs support.

What health issues are linked to methylation pathway imbalances?

Because methylation touches so many systems in the body, the symptoms of poor methylation are wide-ranging. Common symptoms that can occur include fatigue, anxiety, depression, brain fog, hormonal disruption (especially oestrogen dominance), elevated homocysteine, fertility issues, poor detoxification, sleep issues and immune dysfunction. This is exactly why a personalised report (rather than a generic one) makes such a difference.

How accurate is the test?

Your sample is processed by a NATA-accredited Australian laboratory, which is the highest standard for scientific and clinical accuracy in the country. NATA accreditation is trusted by healthcare professionals and medical institutions nationally. And because your results are reviewed by a qualified Clinical Nutritionist, not generated by software alone, you're getting both scientific accuracy and thoughtful human interpretation.

Where are tests available? Can I order from anywhere in Australia?

Yes, absolutely. We ship test kits to anywhere in Australia. The kit comes with a pre-paid express satchel to post your sample back, and consultations are held via Zoom so there's no need to travel. Whether you're in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, regional Queensland or rural WA, the process is exactly the same.

What kind of insights can I expect from my results?

The report covers over 100 pages across 92 genes and 8 health categories including nutrient metabolism, methylation, hormones, mental health, detoxification, immune support, DNA repair and cardiovascular health. You'll learn things like your optimal protein and fat intake for your ancestry, how your body processes key nutrients like B12, folate and magnesium, your oestrogen detox profile, your neurotransmitter genetics and much more. With the Video Analysis or Consultation package, a clinician translates all of that into specific food, supplement and lifestyle recommendations for you personally.

What's the difference between the Video Analysis and the 1:1 Consultation?

The Video Analysis gives you a personalised recorded walkthrough of your results with some food, supplement and lifestyle recommendations based on what they can see in your genetics alone. It's great if you want expert input but prefer to put together your own protocol or have another practitioner do it for you. The 1:1 Consultation is a live 60-minute Zoom where you can ask questions in real time, discuss your existing supplements or medications, diet, gut health, hormones and more, and then work through a long-term plan together. Most people with health concerns or who want to deep dive into their health find the live consultation more valuable.

What tests go hand-in-hand with the Genetic Methylation Test?

If you want to dive deep into all aspects of your health, we often recommend the comprehensive microbiome test that looks into what is happening in your gut at a cellular level, identifying any issues with nutrient absorption, digestion, parasites, viruses, fungi, yeasts, bacterial overgrowth, or immune system dysfunction stemming from the gut. Additionally, the stress hormone testing can tell us how well your body is coping with stress and whether you need more support, and at what time of the day. It can also tell us whether stress hormones may be affecting sleep. If you want to package this all together with a thorough blood work analysis, check out our Longevity Deep Dive package.
